Acid and waste gases recovery technology

These plants are used for processing and recovery of the waste acids and gases originating from the before mentioned explosive manufacturing plants. Within this package of plants we offer the following for: Waste acids denitration; Nitrous gases absorption; Waste acids distillation in order to remove the explosive; Acetic acid concentration; Waste waters processing. For a more economical manufacture of the explosives we can also provide plants for nitric and sulphuric acid concentration, as well as for oleum production.

The equipment used in these plants is made of the best-quality materials such as: glass, glass coated steel, stainless steel, tantalum, titanium and PTFE. The plants are highly automated and safe in operation, and provide for a maximum environment protection.

Waste acids denitration

Comprises the plants for denitration of the waste acids from TNT, DNT, nitrocellulose and nitroglycerin manufacture.

The waste acid is introduced into the denitration column where nitric acid is separated from sulphuric acid by direct or combined direct and indirect steam heating.

Nitrous gases absorption

Covers the plants for obtaining of diluted nitric acid from nitrous gases resulting from TNT, DNT, RDX and PETN manufacture, as well as from the plants for acid processing and recovery.

Waste acids distillation

Comprises the plants for removal of the explosive and other admixtures from the waste acids coming from the manufacture of RDX, PETN and HMX in order to obtain pure and stabilized acids for their further concentration.

Acid and Waste Gases Recovery Plant

Acetic acid concentration

Carried out after distillation of the waste acid from the manufacture of HMX. The process is based on azeotropic rectification with organic acetate as dehydrating agent. The obtained glacial acetic acid partly returns to the octogen production process and is partly used for other purposes.

Waste waters processing

The plants are used for processing of waste water from the manufacture of RDX, PETN and HMX, as well as from the plants for waste acids processing and recovery on the basis of neutralization with inorganic hydroxides.
